Hi all,
I enjoyed reading your responses to lesson 1. I know a lot of you are concerned about several different things, so I want to try to ease your fears.

- Time management/online course - For most of you, this course will be challenging because of its logistical set up. There are no in person meetings, which makes it difficult to keep this course in the forefront of your mind.
- Take this opportunity to learn how you work best in independent scenarios. It is good prep for your career. You have a bit of a safety net with the mulligans, so keep that in mind.
- Make sure you have an agenda book and keep the course schedule with you. Mark down the dates and take a look at upcoming assignments to make sure you allow enough time to complete them. A good thing to do is take a look at the point value for the assignment - the higher the point value, the more time it will take you to complete the assignment.
- Selecting a cause - It can be daunting to have complete freedom to choose your cause. It can also be quite exciting. Over the next few lessons, you will get a better idea of what you can do for this course. You will see other student examples - those will be helpful and hopefully inspiring.
- As long as you are passionate about the topic, you will be just fine. If you have multiple ideas, go with your gut. This semester can also be an excellent opportunity to research a topic you think you might want to pursue in grad school or in your career.
- This course can also be an opportunity to sort through ideas you have for a small business or app or a great way to get your own artistic projects off the ground.
- Remember - it's okay to make mistakes along the way - making mistakes is part of life. Mistakes are how we learn. You might look back at the end of the semester and wish you had done things differently...that is okay, that is how you learn.
